Egg Nog Bread.

Happy Hump Day!
When i came across this recipe i knew i had to make it. First off its super simple. Secondly...eggnog is my husbands holiday addiction. Were on our 5th carton of eggnog (one of them was a gallon size from Costco) and he wants more! and finally..i already had most of what i needed to make this.

The original recipe calls for:
- 1 1/2 cups of eggnog
-2 teaspoons rum flavored extract
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1 cup sugar
-1/2 cup Crisco

-2 1/4 cups flour
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/2 rounded teaspoon ground nutmeg

-mix together the first group of ingredients. then separately mix together the second group of ingredients and add to the first bowl. Bake in a 9x5 loaf pan at 350* for 50 mins.

-Let cool in the pan for 20 mins. before removing. Continue to cool on cooling rack on the counter then sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool.

**i didn't have rum flavored extract so i used a total of 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. I also didn't have nutmeg so instead used pumpkin pie seasoning. And let me tell you....AMAZING!

Want to see a change in your marriage? Let the change start with you.

Hello Wives!
We are going to start this week and this journey off, on where the very foundation of what our marriage is based on. The Lord. We are going to be going through the different areas in our husbands lives we need to be praying for. Your husband truly is your other half. And we need to support him, encourage him and pray for him just as we would ourselves.

Praying for your husband is the most powerful and loving thing you can do for him. When you learn to pray for him, you will see that all areas of your marriage will benefit.

And lets keep in mind!……..the point of praying for your husband is not make him a better cook, stop snoring, or to end his annoying habits. We are to pray so that he can be all that God has called him to be. And in this process you may find that maybe his nasty cooking isn’t all too bad. His loud snores aren’t as loud as you remember them being and maybe those annoying little habits don’t bother you as much J

The following points ill be touching on are from “The Power Of A Praying Wife” from Stormie Omartian. As a wife and a believer ive always been told I need to pray for my husband. And I did. I prayed the typical “ Keep him safe” “protect him from temptations” ect… but this book opened up my heart and MIND to parts of my husbands life I didn’t even THINK he would be struggling with. I also realized that all wives deal with the same issues. We feel hurt. We feel angry. We feel disrespected and unappreciated. Sometimes we don’t even feel loved, or desired.

The first step to praying for your husband is to pray for OURSELVES. And let me just get this out of the way-- no matter how hard, no matter how long and no matter what prayer you might say. You husband will NEVER conform into the man YOU want him to be. To see God work in your husband you need to allow him to work in you first. You cannot whole heartily pray for your husband without examining your own heart.

Are you praying for your husband to change in certain ways? Are you sure YOUR not the one needing to change? God sees things we don’t and if we are wanting change in our husbands life wouldn’t some of that change have to start with our own lives? It makes it even harder for us to truly pray for our husbands when we have ill feelings or thoughts of him. Has he sinned by being unkind? Unfaithful? Disrespectful? Or abusive? God also considers feelings of hatred, self pity, unforgiveness and revenge to be sinful. Acknowledge these feelings, confess them and ask God to set you free of anything that is not of Him.

So, my first change for you is to examine your heart. Be honest about your feelings. God knows the feelings of our heart, but if we expect and even more……..want change, we need to confess them to Him. Pray your true feelings to God. Ask him to revel why you have these hard feelings for your husband and ask that God may take these feelings away and replace them with love for your husband. Where do you need change in your life? Things wont change if you don’t allow them to change. If its more intimacy you want, ask God to open up your heart. Pray that it be filled with the desire and willingness to be more intimate with your husband.

I recommend keeping a journal for this process. Write down your feelings and how you can change them. Things that may bother you and hurt you. Then Pray, Pray, Pray. I also think it'd be a good idea to get a close group of girlfriends you can trust and just complain! Being able to complain about your husband and allowing your friends to complain about theirs (Without judgment of course!) It reminds us that maybe things are as bad as they seem! And that men will be men. Let today be the first day of a new marriage. A new life for you and your husband.

Hi There!

Hello! And Welcome!

Let me start off by introducing myself!
 I'm Kendra
I live in a small California town.
I'm a 25 year old wife and mother.
I have been married for 5 years
And have 2 beautiful children

I'm not new to blogging. But this blog is much different. This is a topic I'm passionate about.

Marriage.

This blog is dedicated to wives, marriages, husbands and God. I believe the foundation to a STRONG *not to be mistaken for a perfect* marriage is the Lord. The Bible commands what’s expected from us as wives; "encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored." Titus 2:4-5. But believe it or not, there's even MORE we can be doing! And it has nothing to do with the home, our children, or our husbands. It has to do with US!
I’m calling all wives to take this journey with me. A journey of praying for our husbands, praying for ourselves, getting healthy, feeling attractive, and spicing up our sex life!
A marriage doesn’t need to be in shambles for you to want a change. Change doesn’t have to be forced or mandatory. It can be wanted. It can be needed. And it can also be fun, exciting, and refreshing. This point of the upcoming posts of this blog are to take you out of your comfort zone. isn’t that what we need? Comfort leads to convenience. And when we stick with whats convenient we forget about what was once important to us.

So I welcome everyone to join me and let the good times roll! And please bare with me while the blog and posts all come together.

~What God commands of us. What our husbands want from us. What we need to be doing for ourselves.~
